Are you looking to encourage your child's existing interests and aptitudes in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) and space? Then look no further than Canberra Space Camp!
Canberra Space Camp, a 4 day/3 night, immersive experience for high school students in space sciences and Canberra’s burgeoning space industry, is launching on September 30 from the YMCA of Canberra. Centred around the theme of ‘A Mission to Mars’, the event promotes space sciences, innovative related space technologies and careers in the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Throughout Canberra Space Camp, students will take site tours of fantastic space related locations such as the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex and the Australian National University's Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. The event will also feature a Skype session with none other than former NASA Astronaut, Christopher Ferguson.
The participating students will engage in real world applications of the STEM disciplines, including hands on activities. The students will also participate in team building, leadership and communication activities and opportunities.
Get in quick, as positions are strictly limited and available through application. Tickets are $299 per student and non-competitive scholarships are available. Applications close Friday, August 26, 2016.
